The aim of the company is to create green electricity from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and other carbon based wastes, and rapidly to roll out new generation capacity across the UK - creating substantial value for shareholders. The intention is to build electricity production facilities that are:
- Highly profitable
- In Stage 2 use the most efficient and economic technology available to generate electricity at a cost under 3p per kWh [excluding capital costs and Gate Fee income]
- Environmentally responsible
Waste2Tricity is seeking equity financing to develop this business, and this will qualify under the Enterprise Investment Scheme or as a Venture Capital Trust.
Participants in this funding will gain a stake in a company with exclusive UK rights to the AFC Energy fuel cells for all gasification applications [including all waste to energy applications] and an equity stake of the initial SPV which will be formed to construct the first plant.
Going forward Waste2Tricity will participate on the same terms in further SPVs to build similar generating stations, with the objective of gaining a 35% market share of the carbon based waste reprocessing market - sufficient to support 110 plants of this size.
