Members of the board

Waste2Tricity has a management team with considerable experience in waste, the environment and related fields.

Chairman Peter Jones OBE was for 20 years a director of waste management company BIFFA Limited and is now a well-known public commentator on waste issues, as well as a member of various advisory bodies created by Defra, BERR and the Mayor of London. John Hall acts as MD, John contributes senior experience of marketing and commercial management a wide range of sectors and has acted as a consultant to the project since inception.

Keith Riley is a Non Executive Director and has wide experience in recycling & waste senior management as well as with blue-chip engineering companies such as Babcock and Rolls-Royce. Keith holds degrees in engineering from Queen Mary College, University of London and social sciences from the Open University. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.

Ian Balchin acts as a Non Executive director and is Deputy Chairman of AFC Energy Plc. Previously he was CEO of Stanelco plc for five years, during which time the company acquired Biotec Holdings, before this he held senior management positions at AEA Technology. Ian also has interests in polymer businesses, a technology commercialisation company and investments in several companies focused on materials and material processing.

Ian Arbon is a consultant for the company and previously served as chairman of the Energy, Environment & Sustainability Group at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and is a visiting Professor in Alternative Energy at Newcastle University. Ian is an experienced engineer and Board-level manager in the field of electrical and thermal power generation from all forms of biomass and waste streams with a successful track record in plant/equipment development and design technology.

Howard White has specific experience of hydrogen fuel cells and in start up technology companies, Howard acts as lead consultant in identifying opportunities and implementing projects for the company.
